TOP 5 PESCATARIAN MEALS
For long I struggled with not knowing what kind of vegetarian I was, or if there were types anyway. All I knew was that I could consume fish and seafood, milk and eggs but I couldn’t touch anything else meat ; chicken, pork, beef, name it!
On my lifestyle blog I shall be sharing peaks into my favourite meals as a pescatarian and in this post I will be sharing 5 of my best ones.
I have the worst allergic reaction to consumption of meat.I identify as a pescatarian /pescovegetarian so here are my top 5 meals that any pescatarian would devour with outright delight.
OVEN BAKED VEGETABLES WITH SALMON.
This meal is one of my all time favourites. To fix this meal. All you need is a vegetable selection of your choice. For mine I used; potatoes, aubergine, cherry tomatoes, fresh mushrooms, onion and garlic.
In an oven pan, place the clean chopped veggies and add olive oil. Mix until the vegetables are all covered. Season with salt and other spices of your choice. Put in preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes at 200°
Heat a non stick pan with oil. Season your pieces of salmon with your choice of spices and fry until crisp browned. Marinate with your favourite herbs. Serve when ready.
With a pescatarian diet, you could never go wrong about healthy eating. It comes naturally, right?
Tuna salad is next on my favourites. You have it as a salad with nothing on the side or you can have it served with “something” on the side. I have mine served with hash browns as indicated above. Served with a cold glass of water your favourite drink, you would have a care in the world. I usually have sparkling water with mine.
OVEN BAKED SALMON IN BEARNAISE SAUCE.
This is easily one of my top pescatarian meals. It’s also easy to prepare this absolutely delicious meal. Oh… And incase I forgot to mention, salmon is my favourite fish so it’s easily the most consumed fish in my home.
So to fix this meal, place a few slices of lemon on the bottom of your oven pan. Add the fish and marinate with your desired spices. Add bearnaise food cream and put in the oven at 200° for about 45 minutes.
Season with herbs of your choice. I love to use dill. Serve when ready. You can serve alongside a different food of your choice. I love mine with mashed potatoes.
Being a pescatarian in a family of meat eaters can be challenging sometimes as you need something different always. You don’t get to share the same meal as your family but this vegetarian lasagne is something my entire family will happily dive into without second thought.
Yes. You guessed right. It’s because of how delicious it is that the entire family will jump in for a bite.
To prepare this pescatarian meal, you just need to follow the exact same procedure you use for meat lasagne and every other one not vegetarian except that you replace the meat with vegetables, peppers etc.
Add as many toppings as you crave. The versatility of pizza is absolutely overwhelming. For any and every occasion, the pizza never disappoints. My forever toppings are fresh mushrooms, canned tuna, plus a variety of vegetables like onion, peppers etc.
If perfection had a name, it’d be Pescatarian pizza!
